IIFA Awards in brief


International Indian Film Academy Awards
The 15th International (North) Indian Film Academy Awards, also known as the IIFA Awards, are a set of awards presented annually by the International Indian Film Academy to honor both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in Bollywood, the Hindi language film industry. It was instituted in 2000, the ceremony is held in different countries around the world every year. This award ceremony has been organised by Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt Ltd – one of India’s premier event management and entertainment agencies – since its inception.

This year’s IIFA Weekend celebrations are slated from the April 23, 2014 to April 26, 2014 in Tampa Bay, Florida, US. The IIFA Technical Awards 2014 anchored by Saif Ali Khan has been announced on April 25, 2014 and The IIFA Popular Awards 2014 anchored by Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar announced at a gala event on April 26, 2014. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra‘s, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag the Milkha Singh biopic bagged overall thirteen Awards in the International Indian Film Academy Annual Extravaganza.

International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards – 2013

The IIFA Awards 2013 were full of glitz, glamour, naach gaana and witnessed lots of beautiful people dressed in their fashionable best. Shahrukh Khan and Shahid Kapoor played entertaining anchors and the highlight of the evening were performances by yesteryear divas, Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit. The other performers of the night were Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra.

International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards - 2012

The IIFA Awards 2012 was held in the beautiful city of Singapore. The list of winners has just been announced and as expected, Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan have once again won the Best Actor and Best Actress award respectively. The Best movie and director too have been predictable this year, as Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, which swept the IIFA 2012 technical awards, has won in both categories. Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri have been voted as the Hottest Pair in Bollywood.
