61st National Film Awards – 2013

The 61st National Film Awards ceremony was an event during which the Directorate of Film Festivals of India presented its annual National Film Awards to honour the best films of 2013 in the Indian cinema. The ceremony was held on May 3, 2014.

Feature Films

All the winners are awarded with a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus Award), a certificate and a cash prize.
1.     Best Feature Film                     -           Ship of Theseus (English, Hindi)
2.     Best Debut Film of a Director (Indira Gandhi Award)       -           Fandry (Marathi)
3.     Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment          - Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (Hindi)
4.     Best Children's Film                 -           Kaphal (Hindi)
5.     Best Direction                          -           Shahid (Hindi) Hansal Mehta

All the winners were awarded with a Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus Award), a certificate and a cash prize.
1.     Best Feature Film on National Integration (Nargis Dutt Award)- Thalaimuraigal (Tamil)
2.     Best Film on Social Issues       -           Tuhya Dharma Koncha (Marathi)
3.     Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation - Perariyathavar (Malyalam)
4.     Best Actor - Rajkummar Rao (Shahid, Hindi)  and Suraj Venjaramoodu (Perariyathavar, Malayalam)
5.     Best Actress                             -           Geetanjali Thapa (Liar's Dice, Hindi)
6.     Best Supporting Actor              -           Saurabh Shukla (Jolly LLB)
7.     Best Supporting Actress          -           Amruta Subhash (Astu) and Aida El Kashef (Ship Of Theseus)
