Around 100 civilians evacuated from Mariupol steel plant to Ukraine


Russia's defence ministry said on Sunday its missiles had destroyed a runway and a hangar with foreign weapons at a military airfield near the Ukrainian city of Odesa. The ministry also said its air defence systems had shot down two Ukrainian Su-24m bombers over the Kharkiv region.

Ukraine and UN are working on the evacuation of other civilians from the plant in Mariupo also.

Ukraine's military said in a bulletin on Sunday that Russian forces were fighting to push north from Kherson to the cities of Mykolayiv and Kryvyi Rih.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has pledged to continue to support Ukraine with money, aid and also weapons, saying a pacifist approach to the war is "outdated."


Delhi affected with drastic Heatwave

India has been reeling under intense heatwave conditions for the past few weeks. Owing to scanty rains, northwest and central India experienced the hottest April in 122 years with average maximum temperature touching 35.9 degrees Celsius and 37.78 degrees Celsius, respectively.

More than a billion people are at risk of heat-related impacts in the region, scientists have warned, linking the early onset of an intense summer to climate change.

The weather office has forecast partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thunder development at isolated places over Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh.
